David Arcus is a film composer based in Toronto Canada. He likes to write for orchestra, and guitar, and weird 80s synthesizers. Sometimes he'll just make bizarre sounds and build a score out of that. He likes the sound of analog tape even though it's expensive and impractical. He is also a producer. A little while back he was nominated for a Juno award for the album Flores, Tambores e Amores by Aline Morales, which he co-wrote and produced.

ZURICH INTERNATIONAL FILM MUSIC COMPETITION

Screen Shot 2017-08-25 at 4.05.50 PM.png

I'm very excited to announce I've been selected as a finalist in the 2017 International Film Music Competition! Participants from around the world were invited to compose an orchestral score for the 5-min short film TAMAH and the 5 finalists get to hear their scores performed by the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich in front of a live audience as part of the Zurich Film Festival. I couldn't be more excited to hear my score performed live by the Tonhalle. Congrats to my fellow finalists!
